"
The Avenue des Champs-Elysées is known in France as La plus belle avenue du monde ("The most beautiful avenue in the world"), located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. The name is French for Elysian Fields, the place of the blessed dead in Greek mythology.
This place is highly symbolic in France because every year on Bastille Day, the largest military parade in Europe passes down the Champs-Élysées, reviewed by the President of the Republic.
The 2 Kilometers long avenue is lined with luxury shops, cinemas, cafés and restaurants. But it’s also a place of art with museums and important cultural events..
Remember that:
Museums are open from 10am to 6pm and are closed Monday or Tuesday.
Shops often are open from 9am to 7pm.
Restaurants are open from 11:30am to 2pm and from 7:30pm to 11pm
