Smoking and other Paris issues.

Smoking and other Paris issues.

RMB

Having just returned from our 4 nights I discovered that smoking in Paris is not as bad as some people have made out on this forum. Most bars now have an outside, closed in area with heat lamps for smokers. For non smokers this is fine, as the smoke in not inside the bar.Having said that I saw several locals smoking inside bars. But generally, smoking is not allowed in bars restaurants and in tourist attraction areas like The Eiffel Tower grounds and queueing areas.
Worse than smoking is that the area we stayed in near the Sacre Coeur, every pavement was covered in dogs mess! You couldn't walk without looking down all the time. Its a disgrace!
I enjoyed Paris and i would definitely return but only out of season when there are less tourists (like when we went end Jan) I could imagine the length of the queues in the summer along with heat! Expect some French rudeness however. The Brits are polite, and the French are rude and abrupt at times.
